Marcelo Ovidio “Óg” is the drum force behind Yachty Rockers, a versatile composer and musician with a nearly three-decade passion for music and rhythm. A trilingual, Cannes Award-winning composer, his music is as diverse and inviting as a sunset cruise. His journey began in São Paulo, discovering the drums at age five. By his teens, he was performing locally, laying the foundation for a prolific career that includes contributing to over 500 albums across rock, gospel, pop, funk, jazz, and much more. As a passionate drummer, Marcelo has toured Brazil, many parts of Latin America, and the U.S. with many different artists. His passion soon expanded into production and composition, scouting global talent, producing, co-producing, mixing, and mastering many debut albums, EPs, and singles. He also shares his talents voluntarily, drumming and engineering audio since 1990. Beyond performance and composing, Marcelo is an expert in audio post-production. He runs his own studio in Milton, Ontario, leveraging expertise honed from his early days in his studio in São Paulo to a successful career engineering audio for major Brazilian television networks. With a Bachelor’s in Music and Audio Post Production and a vast skill set, Marcelo Ovidio “Óg” blends smooth yacht rock grooves with infectious energy, ensuring every song is not just heard, but felt.
